Specializing in colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Gilmore’s practice encompasses all colorectal health services. She has special interests in robotic-assisted surgeries with the use of the daVinci Surgical System. Dr. Gilmore has a broad range of experience in treating colon and rectal cancer, pelvic floor disorders, rectal prolapse, fecal incontinence, constipation, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistulas, inflammatory bowel disease, abscesses and pilonidal disease. Her research into the short-term efficacy and safety in patients undergoing transanal hemorrhoidopexy with dearterialization (THD) has been submitted for publication by The University of Texas Affiliated Hospitals in Houston.

Dr. Gilmore served in the United States Army as an enlisted soldier as well as a commissioned officer. She served in multiple locations within the United States as well as overseas. After her first deployment, Dr. Gilmore returned to Texas to study at Sam Houston State, where she became the first female Corps Commander of the school’s ROTC. Graduating college as an officer, Dr. Gilmore served a second tour of duty with a deployment to Saudi Arabia. She received multiple commendations and medals including a Kuwait Liberation Medal and Parachutist Badge.
Returning from duty, Dr. Gilmore went on to pursue her medical degree in Mexico from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, followed by a Fifth Pathway Certificate at New York Medical College. She completed her general surgery residency and colon and rectal fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Before joining TCRS and the colorectal surgery division within Texas Oncology, Dr. Gilmore served as HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe chief colorectal surgeon on site.
A Texas native, Dr. Gilmore credits her military training for her success in the demanding surgical arena. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons in the great outdoors, including hunting and fishing. Dr. Gilmore is also a huge fan of baseball and never misses a chance to watch her favorite team, The Houston Astros, play ball. With a strong drive to keep physical training at a priority, she also enjoys riding her Peloton bike. With 14 years of experience, Dr. Gilmore is excited to join TCRS within Texas Oncology, continuing to serve her patients and working with her colleagues at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe.
