What you’ll need for your office visit

Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists work to make every office visit a hassle-free and pleasant experience. Before your visit, please download the MyCarePlan app to complete your registration and medical history, to reduce time spent checking-in for your visit. Upon arriving to your Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists visit, please have the following information available:

  • Recent insurance card
  • Driver’s license
  • Questions you may have
  • List of current medications
  • Relevant test results
  • Referral from your primary care physician, if applicable
  • X-rays from referring physician

Prepare to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment and have a means of covering your financial portion as determined by your insurance plan. If paying by credit card, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

If your insurance plan requires a referral, please contact your primary care provider. To expedite your visit, it is best if we receive your referral prior to the day of your appointment.

Rescheduling an Appointment

If circumstances prevent you from keeping your appointment or you anticipate being late, please notify our office and we will reschedule.

Surgery Scheduling

Any required surgery or procedure will be scheduled after your visit. Our staff will make every effort to ensure your insurance company is notified and all pre-certification requirements are met.

Insurance Information

Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists' staff offers professional assistance in filing your insurance. Our specialists participate with major insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross, CIGNA, Medicare, United Healthcare, as well as many preferred provider insurance plans. Please verify participation of your insurance plan when making your initial appointment. Patients assume responsibility for obtaining referrals from your primary care physician, should one be required.

Our Prescription Policy

For prescription refills please contact your pharmacy and have a refill request submitted to our office.

Billing procedures

Payment is required at the time of service. Additional charges may be incurred for procedures and tests. Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists will bill your insurance carrier and you will be responsible for any deductible, co-pay or co-amount.

If surgery is necessary, Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists will coordinate payment arrangements your insurance company determines is your financial responsibility. Payment plans can be arranged prior to surgery if necessary.
