Texas Colon and Rectal Specialists Physicians Join Texas Oncology
As part of our commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care, the practice recently announced that the physicians of Texas Colon and Rectal Specialists (TCRS) will join a new colorectal specialty division within Texas Oncology as of March 1, 2021.
TCRS’s 16 physicians are all board certified in colon and rectal surgery by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, the regulating board of the nation’s colorectal standards. TCRS physicians and care teams are committed to providing leading-edge treatments for anal abscesses, fistulas and fissures, colon cancer, hemorrhoids, and ostomy care. TCRS physicians are also active in research and continually pursue advanced training to provide advanced treatment of complex colon and rectal diseases and disorders.
Expanding colorectal care
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men and women combined in the U.S. In Texas, the ACS predicts 11,280 Texans will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2021, with 4,030 estimated deaths.
Together with Texas Oncology’s existing colorectal surgeons, 27 physicians will provide colorectal specialty services and surgical care in Dallas Fort Worth, Amarillo, San Antonio, and Houston. TCRS physicians will continue serving patients at their current locations across North Texas as they have for more than two decades.
Texas Oncology is an independent oncology practice with more than 500 physicians and 210 locations throughout Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. The addition of the TCRS physicians to Texas Oncology’s existing colorectal physicians provides patients greater accessibility to high-quality colorectal care and more opportunities to participate in value-based care opportunities, outcomes benchmarking and development of best-practices, as well as groundbreaking clinical trials and research.
The TCRS physicians and care teams and Texas Oncology share a commitment to providing patient-centered, compassionate care for better patient outcomes.
