Thiru V. Lakshman, M.D., FACS, FASCRS, is a double board-certified colorectal surgeon who has practiced in Austin since 2010. Dr. Lakshman provides care for all aspects of colorectal surgery, with a special interest in colorectal cancer and minimally invasive, robotic-assisted colorectal surgery. He currently serves as the medical director for the rectal cancer program at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, and is a member of the Cancer Governance Board for St. David’s Healthcare. He has utilized minimally invasive, robotic-assisted techniques for his surgeries since 2011. He successfully performed the world’s first procedure utilizing the da Vinci Xi Surgical System and performed over 1,200 robotic colorectal surgeries to date, the largest volume in the region.
